Josh Hamilton's Thoughtful Gesture Turns Into Horrific Death In Arlington

Last night, Shannon Stone of Brownwood, Texas went to a A’s-Rangers game like thousands of other fans. Unfortunately it would end in disaster.

As All-Star Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton tossed a ball toward the stands, Stone fell 20 feet to his death in one of the accidents that you hear about once or twice every baseball season. It’s not the first fall at Rangers Ballpark at Arlington, since last year a fan also fell 30 feet and suffered a fractured skull among other injuries.

Stone was a firefighter for 18 years in Brownwood. Rangers figures like Nolan Ryan have already expressed their sadness and extended their prayers.
