Royals Pitcher Kyle Davies Placed On Disabled List, Everett Teaford Called Up

Kansas City has announced that starter Kyle Davies has been placed on the disabled list and that Everett Teaford is being re-called from Omaha to take his spot on the roster.

Davies has struggled to a 1-9 record this season with the Royals but did look impressive in his last start on July 25th at Fenway when he went six innings allowing just one run on five hits. He took a no-decision. Over his previous two starts he had showed improved command as he struck out 15 while walking just four.

The move is retroactive back to July 26th as Davies go to the 15-day disabled list.

Taking his spot on the roster will be 5'11" lefty reliever Everett Teaford. Teaford made his major league debut earlier in the season and had a 2.25 ERA in 16.0 innings pitched. Opponents batted .241 against Teaford while he was in Kansas City. He had struck out seven while walking six in his prior stint.
