Oklahoma senior linebacker Travis Lewis suffered a broken bone in his left foot during preseason practice drills and is expected to be out eight weeks.
↵Kenny Mossman, Oklahoma assistant athletic director, announced the news Tuesday afternoon via Twitter. Mossman said surgery will not be required.
↵“We’re disappointed for Travis," said head coach Bob Stoops. "He’s worked very hard, and I know he will want to get back as quickly as possible. We’ve recruited very well and have some excellent athletes in those positions, and I’m confident those players will perform well.
↵Lewis, an All-American who turned down the NFL draft to return to school for his senior year, will miss at least the first mointh of the season. He has led the Sooners in tackes all three years he has been there.
