According to celebrity website TMZ, former major league baseball player Manny Ramirez has been arrested in Florida. The reports which are still be discovered are indicating that he was in a domestic violence altercation with his wife at their home.
In the state of Florida, if you are convicted of a domestic violence charge there is minimum sentence of five days in jail, so it looks like Ramirez will face potential jail time if the charges prove guilt.
The 39-year old Ramirez was a 12-time All-Star and won World Series titles in both 2004 and 2007 with the Boston Red Sox. This past season with the Tampa Bay Rays, he retired abruptly on April 8th after he faced a potential 100-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s Drug Policy for performance enhancing drugs.
