Omaha Storm Chasers Set To Battle For Triple A Crown

On Tuesday evening the Omaha Storm Chasers will take to the field for the final time this season as the Pacific Coast League Champion Storm Chasers will play the Columbus Clippers of the International League.

The game will have an American League Central Division feel as the Kansas City Royals are the parent club of the Storm Chasers, while Columbus is the AAA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.

Starting for the ’Chasers will be Sean O`Sullivan. He started the year with the parent club in Kansas City, going 2-5 in 11 games with as 6.92 ERA. However, O`Sullivan has responded nicely at the AAA level where he is 8-2 with a 4.22 ERA in 14 starts.

The winner takes all one-game championship will be played in Albuquerque, a place traditionaly known for having high scoring baseball games.

Columbus, the defending AAA Champions will send Mitch Talbot to the mound, a 27-year old veteran who has pitched for both the Indians and the Tampa Bay Rays.

Talbot, like O`Sullivan, struggled in his time at the major league level this season. For Cleveland he started 11 games and was 2-6 with a 6.33 ERA. In 13 games (seven starts) with the Clippers he is 4-2 with a 4.26 ERA.

The game will begin at 7:05 this evening and can be viewed on Versus. For satellite viewers, Versus can be found on Direct TV channel 603 and 151 on Dish Network.
