As the scouting reports come in from the East-West Shrine game practices, various local players are getting some good information on where they might stand with NFL teams. Tom Melton is weighing in on the latest West roster practice and he says Dominique Hamilton of Missouri is a player who should garner interest, but who also might have some key limitations.
“Hamilton has the size and strength to be a good run stuffer in the NFL,” writes Melton, " but he doesn’t offer much as a pass rusher which limits his value. He also doesn’t look like a guy who can take on double teams and stuff the run in a 3-4 defense. But if he is going to play the nose tackle position in a 4-3 teams will want more from him as a pass rusher. Will be interesting to see what he shows the rest of the week."
Hamilton has earned stronger reviews from other scouts, so Hamilton will likely still go on the second day of the draft where rounds 2 and 3 take place. A strong showing here could cement that standing.
