Jeff Francis Rumored To Be Signing With Every Major League Baseball Team

Just a few days ago, the Colorado Rockies were considered the favorites for Jeff Francis’ services heading into next year. The former Kansas City Royals starting pitcher got his start in Denver, so it was not surprising to hear that the lefty was ready to possibly move back to his home in the National League. Suddenly, the Rockies are no longer in the picture, according to Jerry Crasnick, but rather four more teams are now the favorites.

The way baseball rumors work sometimes, it’s a wonder we pay any attention at all. The new suitors for Francis reportedly include the New York Mets, Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds and Toronto Blue Jays. From the Great White North to the West Coast, everyone is in on Francis. In other words, no one has any idea.

Even earlier this offseason, the Pirates, Twins, Cubs and Dodgers were all interested in Francis.

Still, Francis is likely to land somewhere soon and given the random (i.e. point a dart and throw it) nature of various baseball writers’ guesswork, someone is bound to get it right. Thus, they will look back and celebrate with a “Francis signed just where I reported he might” column.
