Phil Emery Reportedly Favorite For Chicago Bears General Manager Job

The Kansas City Chiefs might lose a major player in the front office as the team’s college scouting director is reportedly the favorite among the finalists for the general manager position with the Chicago Bears. Emery interviewed earlier and has been named among the finalists for days, but Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that two league sources are both telling him that Emery is likely the man for the Bears.

Emery came over to the Chiefs from the Atlanta Falcons when the team hired Scott Pioli, and his record of strong drafting there with choices like Matt Ryan and Roddy White certain do not hurt. Given the successful drafts of the last two years with the Chiefs, Emery stood tall among the candidates.

Other finalists for the job are the Patriots Jason Licht, the Chargers Jimmy Raye III, the Giants Marc Ross, and the Bears' director of player personnel Tim Ruskell.
