The Oakland Raiders are looking at quite a few candidates and apparently they’re moving through their options at a pretty good clip to pare down to their top head coaching choice. In the wake of Hue Jackson’s firing, Reggie McKenzie has brought in several options as the team’s new head coach from all over the NFL. It’s clear he’s getting down to a smaller number, however, with the news that he’s on to round two with some coaches.
One of the coaches he’s interviewing a second time is Dennis Allen of the Denver Broncos. Allen did some nice work last season with a patchwork defensive line of free agent signings and rookies and Robert Ayers looked much better last season than ever before. The return of Elvis Dumervil was successful and Von Miller had a fantastic rookie season.
Mike Tice is also in the mix for an interview later this week, while the team has already talked with a few candidates including Winston Moss of the Green Bay Packers. An announcement is forthcoming later this week if all goes according to plan.
