Missouri Gets TCU-Sized Competition For 2013 Football Recruit Aaron Curry

Aaron Curry would be a nice addition for Gary Pinkel along the defensive front with the three-star defensive tackle set to arrive for the 2013 season. But TCU has recently stepped into the picture and the location and pitch from Gary Patterson might be more than Missouri can handle. ESPN’s Damon Sayles writes:

Curry’s father, Aaron Sr., said TCU offered the 6-foot-2, 260-pound lineman Thursday night, and the Currys will take a trip to TCU for an official visit this weekend. Curry had narrowed his list to Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri, but the offer from the Horned Frogs gives him something to seriously think about. Curry’s father said TCU head coach Gary Patterson visited the family Thursday and offered.

Missouri was believed to be a frontrunner in the race for Curry, but TCU definitely should be considered a power player. TCU has a growing history of producing NFL defensive lineman, and playing in the Big 12 next season has assisted in recruiting. Additionally, the TCU campus is located mere minutes away from his home.
