Kevin Durant Dedicates Thunder Season To Jeff Green

Darnell Mayberry of the Oklahoman reports today that Oklahoma Thunder star Kevin Durant is dedicating this season to former teammate and friend Jeff Green, who was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm earlier this year and was forced to miss the season. Even though Green is now with the Celtics, it’s clear the two were close and Durant says this year presents an opportunity to honor Green.

Durant explains, "Jeff is a positive person. I learned so much from him. No matter what, he stays positive through the toughest times. He’s still smiling and laughing and enjoying himself. It’s tough to go through what he went through, and I pray for him every single day. But he knows that he’s going to get back better and stronger. I can’t wait for that day. I know he can’t wait."

The Thunder are currently leading the NBA’s Western Conference with an incredible 16-3 record.
