Behind a touchdown from Mike Williams, an interception returned for a touchdown by Ronde Barber, two scores from Vincent Jackson and a touchdown from LeGarrette Blount, the Buccaneers' blew open a 7-3 halftime lead and picked up their second win of the season with a complete performance against the lowly Chiefs.
Coming off their bye week, the Bucs blocked a punt, picked off Chiefs starter Brady Quinn twice and piled on 468 yards of total offense en route to their highest scoring total this season and a dominant victory. After Josh Freeman tossed an interception on Tampa bay's first series of the day, the offense hit on all cylinders for the rest of the afternoon, including 328 yards passing and three touchdowns from Freeman.
The Chiefs scored their only touchdown of the day thanks to a blocked punt that was recovered in the end zone midway through the fourth quarter.
Fantasy Studs: Every single Buccaneer, basically. The receiving corps combined for the best fantasy day, with Mike Williams racking up 113 yards and a touchdown and Vincent Jackson grabbing four balls for 66 yards and two scores. Doug Martin also had a nice performance on the ground and with his hands, rushing for 76 yards and catching two passes for 55 yards. The Buccaneers' defense and special teams had a spectacular day as well, blocking a punt, intercepting a pass and returning another interception for a touchdown.
Fantasy Duds: The Chiefs.
Did they cover?: The Bucs easily covered the five point spread.
The 1-5 Chiefs now have an off week while the 2-3 Bucs welcome the division rival Saints to Tampa Bay next Sunday.
