Kentucky at Missouri: Tigers hoping homecoming will lift spirits

After a soul-crushing 42-10 defeat by No. 1 Alabama, Missouri looks to rebound on their Homecoming Day against Kentucky.

Jeff Blake-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

After losing four consecutive conference games in the SEC, the Missouri Tigers will lick their wounds during the bye, and then a home game against Kentucky on October 27. Their most recent loss, a 42-10 drubbing by BCS No. 1 Alabama last Saturday, left the Tigers still winless in conference play and desperately needing a victory.

Despite an SEC Championship being out of reach, the Tigers will be playing with added incentive at Faurot Field as they celebrate their 101st Homecoming. Visiting Kentucky, who is also 0-4 in SEC play, might be the opponent Tiger fans would choose to notch a win against on their special day. The Wildcats have dropped five straight, including a loss to unranked Western Kentucky. The Tigers should take full advantage of this opportunity to win on their home field, as they visit BCS No. 2 Florida the following week. Things just never get any easier in the SEC.
