The Kansas City Marathon gets underway early Sunday morning, but there are activities all weekend as part of the Kansas City Health and Fitness Expo. There will be exhibits downtown all weekend long and packet pickup and late registration is available downtown, too, at the Crown Center Exhibit Hall A. There will be no packet pickup or late registration on the day of the race.

All of the racing will take place on Sunday, with the marathon and half marathon beginning at 7:05 a.m CT. The Start and Finish is at 22nd and Grand, across from the Crown Center. The 5K get underway at 7:20 a.m., after the marathoners and half marthoners have begun. Finally, the kid's mini-marathon activities start at 10:30 a.m. with a mascot race and group stretching, before the 1.2 mile race begins at 11:00 a.m.

The winner of the big race on Sunday, in both the male and female contests, will each receive $1,000. Second place will earn $500 and third place will get $250. The top local runners will get a $250 prize and the winners of the wheelchair races will get $125.
