Plano, Texas-native Julius Randle is including Kansas in his top six schools. He said he will decide on which university he'll attend in the spring.

According to his school, Prestonwood Christian Academy, high school standout Julius Randle narrowed his collegiate choices to six school, including Kansas.

The school tweeted the news Tuesday:

The fact Kansas is still in the running could be attributed to the recent success of the school, which compares with the run Kentucky is currently experiencing. Kansas recognized this by giving head coach Bill Self a contract extension through the 2021-22 season – a possible feather in the Jayhawks' recruiting cap.

The 6'9 Randle spoke highly of Duke and North Carolina as recently as last month to USA Today, but the ACC powers didn't make his final cut. NC State did, however, something of a surprise considering the legacies of Tobacco Road.

Randle said he will wait until the spring to make his final decision, giving each coach plenty of time to continue refining their recruiting speeches.
