The Oklahoma St. Cowboys trailed Iowa State after the first quarter, but scored 10 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 17-10 lead at the half.

Oklahoma St. quarterback J.W. Walsh had a monster first half with 246 yards passing with one touchdown. The touchdown came on a 74-yard pass to Charlie Moore early in the second quarter.

Oklahoma St. had a chance to extend their lead late in the second quarter, but Josh Stewart was stripped by Deon Broomfield at the Iowa State 3-yard line, giving the Cyclones the ball back when the Cowboys looked like they were about to blow the game open. Broomfield's 43-yard return was called back when it was ruled that his knee was down at the 3-yard line.

Cyclones quarterback Jared Barnett has 169 yards passing on 16-of-28 passing with one touchdown and 32 yards rushing.

The Cowboys are looking for the upset over the 24th-ranked Cyclones.
