Rice vs. Tulsa score update: Golden Hurricane trail 21-14 at half

Looking for their seventh win at a row, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane will need a rebound in the second half as they trail the Rice Owls, 21-14, at halftime.

The Owls got out in front early after Cole Way blocked a Tulsa punt that was returned for a touchdown by Sam McGuffie. The Golden Hurricane tied up the score in the first quarter with a 1-yard Alex Singleton rushing touchdown, but fell behind again in the second quarter when Taylor McHargue rushed 20 yards for a score to begin the second quarter.

Tulsa responded with a 28-yard touchdown run from Ja'Terian Douglas, but less than three minutes later McHargue found Luke Wilson in the middle of the field to take a 21-14 lead.

Neither team has had much success passing the ball, as neither McHargue nor Tulsa's Kalen Henderson have been able to complete more than 50 percent of their passes. However, Tulsa managed 144 rushing yards while Rice tallied 103 on the ground.
