Prized recruit Tyler Roberson visits Kansas

Tyler Roberson, a four-star small forward out of Roselle, N.J., made and official visit to Kansas on Friday.

Tyler Roberson, a highly-touted basketball prospect from Roselle, N.J., made an official visit to Kansas on Friday. Roberson is a 6'8, 210-pound forward and rated as a four-star player by Rivals, 247 Sports and Scout.

Roberson lists Kansas as one of his six schools of interest. Also on that list are Kentucky, Rutgers, SMU, Syracuse and Villanova. Roberson has upcoming official visits scheduled for Villanova (Oct. 26) and Kentucky (Nov. 2). He recently made an unofficial visit to Rutgers, which has the advantage of being roughly 30 minutes from Roberson's home in Roselle. He had positive things to say about that visit:

"It was fun," Roberson told SNY.tv. I went to the Midnight Madness and that was exciting. It was fun. There was a dunk contest [won by Vincent Garrett] and they scrimmaged a little bit."

Roberson's head coach at Roselle Catholic, Dave Boff, said the Scarlet Knights have been recruiting the 2013 standout hard, and location is their main pitch:

"It's of course going to be about the local aspect of the situation," Boff said. "Going there and helping them build something that they've been trying to build for a while."

Roberson hopes to make a decision at some point this fall. He hasn't indicated whether or not he is leaning toward any specific school.
