Kansas State left guard Nick Puetz received his first playing time in weeks during the No. 4 Wildcats' 55-14 win at then-No. 15 West Virginia on Saturday. Puetz suffered a foot injury during Kansas State's season-opening win over Missouri State, and he hadn't played since.

Saturday's win was about as good as it gets for Kansas State. In addition to Puetz's return, the Wildcats didn't have to deal with any major injury issues.

Kansas saw two players return to action in the Jayhawks' 52-7 loss at Oklahoma. Running back Tony Pierson played for the first time in two games and gained 67 yards on 14 carries. Pierson suffered an elbow injury during the first half of the Jayhawks' 56-16 loss to Kansas State in Week 6. Linebacker Tunde Bakare returned to make one tackle after missing last week's loss to Oklahoma State with a head injury. Center Trevor Marrongelli left briefly in the first quarter against OU, but he returned two plays later.

Missouri was off Saturday, but the Tigers are dealing with plenty of injuries. Quarterback James Franklin, right guard Jack Meiners and center Mitch Morse are recovering from MCL sprains. Left guard Travis Ruth is still rehabbing a torn triceps suffered during fall practice in August.
