The No. 16 Missouri Tigers women's soccer team lost their third game in their last four on Sunday, falling to the LSU Tigers by a score of 3-1. It was their second loss in a row following a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Arkansas on Friday.
Kaysie Clark opened the scoring for Missouri in the 24th minute following a flurry of shots that hit the woodwork for the Tigers. Unfortunately, they couldn't hold on for more than a minute as LSU's Victoria Sample equalized 25 seconds later. The Tigers ended up giving up the game winner in the 38th minute as Colby Maffei headed in a cross from inside the box.
No goals were scored in the second half, though Missouri did look the more dangerous of the two sides.
The 3-1 loss dropped Mizzou down to 13-5-0 on the season, also dropping their conference record to 8-4-0 in the SEC. LSU improved their record to 8-7-4 and 4-6-2 with the win.
