The No. 24 Missouri women's soccer team fell in overtime, 2-1, to No. 13 Texas A&M on Thursday night in College Station, Tex. The Aggies' Chelsea Jones shot from the penalty arc for the game-winning goal in the 96th minute. Shea Groom assisted Jones.
Texas A&M improved to 16-3-1 (10-2-1) with the victory. The Tigers fell to 12-6 overall and 8-5 in the Southeastern Conference. Missouri's lone goal came off the foot of Kaysie Clark in the 81st minute. She was assisted by Haley Krentz on a cross on the left side.The Aggies' first goal came 68 minutes into the game. Annie Kunz was assisted by Beth West to put Texas A&M up, 1-0.
Krentz nearly scored immediately after Texas A&M's first goal, but her shot was deflected off a defender and saved by Aggies keeper Jordan Day. Day finished with six saves for Texas A&M. Missouri keeper McKenzie Sauerwein had five saves on the game.
Missouri opens the SEC Tournament next week as the No. 5 seed. The Tigers will play No. 4 Kentucky at 7:30 p.m. CT Wednesday.
