With a short week of preparation, the San Diego Chargers are hurting at the wide receiver position as Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal had little to no participation in Monday and Tuesday's practices.
Royal, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, did not practice either day, while Meachem was a limited participant on Tuesday after sitting out the day before. The Chargers could be without both options as quarterback Phillip Rivers and the Chargers offense looks to bounce back from a six-point effort in a loss to the Cleveland Browns in Week 8.
Meachem has been the big-play receiver for Rivers, averaging 15.8 yards per catch on 12 receptions this season. Royal has been the more dynamic threat, being utilized in the punt return and ground game, as well as snagging 13 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.
San Diego's passing offense has struggled overall, ranking 21st in the NFL with 217.4 yards per contest.
