Kansas volleyball defeated West Virginia in Morgantown 3-1 on Wednesday night, making the Jayhawks 3-0 in the Big 12 for the first time in school history. Kansas dropped the first set to the Mountaineers, 15-25, before coming back with 25-16, 25-14 and 25-17 set wins to take the match.
Kansas (15-2, 3-0) allowed 12 kills to West Virginia (8-10, 0-5) in the first set. The Mountaineers could only muster 25 kills total through the next three sets. Junior Caroline Jarmoc scored 14 kills for the Jayhawks and made no errors. Catherine Carmichael led the team with 15 kills.
The Jayhawks had 12 blocks to WVU's seven; Tayler Tolefree had seven of KU's blocks. Junior libero Brianne Riley had 20 digs on the night, her eighth 20-dig performance of the year.
The win leaves the Jayhawks as one of only two Big 12 teams to be undefeated in conference play thus far, along with Texas. Kansas hosts Baylor (13-5, 0-3) Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. CT.
