Missouri soccer continues SEC dominance with Mississippi State win

The Missouri Tigers women's soccer team defeated Mississippi State 2-0 on Sunday at Walton Stadium, moving to 12-2 on the year.

Sophomore Abi Raymer and senior Taiwo Adeshigbin scored goals as the No. 16 Tigers dominated possession of the ball. Mizzou had 13 shots on goal to the Bulldogs' six.

Raymer gave Missouri the lead in the 33rd minute, hitting a low shot past several defenders and Bulldog goalie Skylar Rosson for a 1-0 lead and Raymer's sixth goal of the season. The offense got more aggressive as the game progressed, with the Bulldogs tallying eight saves in the second period.

After several missed opportunities, Adeshigbin scored her sixth goal of the year in the 65th minute, hitting a shot inside the right corner of the box past Rosson.

Rosson had 10 saves on the day while Tigers goalie McKenzie Sauerwein stopped five balls.

The Tigers, who are now 7-1 in SEC play, next face the Florida Gators in Gainesville, Fla., on Friday.
