Sporting Kansas City will face the team that defeated them in last year's Eastern Conference playoffs, the Houston Dynamo, after the Dynamo took down the Chicago Fire, 2-1, in Wednesday night's Eastern Conference knock-out round.
Last year, Sporting Kansas City, seen as the favorite to come out of the East in the 2011 playoffs, were defeated 2-0 by the Dynamo at Livestrong Sporting Park. Houston would go on to lose to the LA Galaxy 1-0 in the MLS Cup Final.
Without a doubt, Sporting KC will be looking for revenge when the two Eastern Conference foes face off once again.
The two teams played a total of three regular season matches in 2012, with the Dynamo getting the better of Sporting KC once, a 2-1 win in July at BBVA Compass Stadium, and with the other two matches, both played at Livestrong, ending in draws.
The first leg of the two leg aggregate goal semifinals will be held at BBVA Compass, on Sunday, November 4th, with a 2:30 p.m. CDT kick-off. That match will be shown on NBC, and a radio broadcast will be available on Sports Radio 810 WHB.
The second leg will be held at Livestrong Sporting Park on Wednesday, November 7th, at 8 p.m. CDT. It will be available for viewing on KSMO-TV, while Sports Radio 810 WHB will once again have the radio call.
