Sporting Kansas City's Peterson Joseph joined the Haitian national team on Monday for the second round of the Caribbean Cup qualifying.

Joseph is one of six midfielders on the Haiti roster, selected by head coach Israel Blake Cantero, which will begin Group 6 play against Guyana on Wednesday afternoon. The top two teams in Group 6 will move on to the Caribbean Cup, an eight-team tournament that will decide the berths in the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In September, Joseph started all three matches for the national team in the first round of qualifying, where Haiti won Group A with victories over Saint Martin, Bermuda and Puerto Rico.

Haiti currently ranks 57th internationally in FIFA, the highest position in the national team's history.

This year for Sporting, Joseph played in 10 games during the regular season and both legs of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Houston Dynamo during the MLS Cup Playoffs.
