The Oklahoma Sooners will make their way to the Appalachian Range this weekend for an important conference showdown with the West Virginia Mountaineers. Not only does the game have potential BCS implications for the Sooners, a loss completely erases any hope they have of catching the Kansas St. Wildcats for first place in the Big 12.
Sooners quarterback Landry Jones is likely excited at the idea of throwing against the Mountaineers' defense. The senior is completing 65.5 percent of his passes and will be throwing against a defense that gives up an average of 41.4 points a contest, second worst in the FBS. But both teams are pass heavy, as Geno Smith leads the Mountaineers and their fifth best passing attack in the nation. Oklahoma's defense is in for a big test and if it isn't careful, this game could turn into a shootout.
The Sooners roll into Morgantown winners of two straight while the Mountaineers continue to struggle in their first season in the Big 12, as they've lost four straight.
