The Kansas St. Wildcats will play in the Maui Invitational in 2014, as announced on Tuesday.
The 31st edition of the annual event will be hosted by Chaminade at the Lahaina Civic Center, with BYU, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Purdue and San Diego State also participating. Four more teams will be added at a later date to play in the Opening and Regional Games.
Seven of the eight schools that will be in the event went to the postseason in 2012, including six to the NCAA tournament. Five of the teams are either currently ranked or receiving votes in the Associated Press/USA Today Coaches polls.
The trip for the Wildcats will be their third to the Maui Invitational, with the last occasion being in 1998. The school is 6-3 all-time in Hawaii and 2-3 in the Maui Invitational.
This season, Kansas State has won its first four games and faces Delaware in the semifinals of the NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday.
