Led by another strong performance from fourth-year leader Carolyn Davis, the Kansas Jayhawks women's basketball team held on for a well-earned victory over Creighton on Sunday, 58-48.
Along with pushing their series winning streak to 10 games over the Bluejays, Kansas also moved to a perfect 5-0 on the young season with the win. Davis led all players with seven rebounds and tied a game-high with 12 points, and managed to topple the 1,400-point milestone for her career in the game.
The Jayhawks only connected on 16.7% of their shots from the perimeter on the day, but hit 53.3% of their shots and scored nearly twice as many points in the paint as an undersized Bluejays team. Monica Engelman and CeCe Harper each also put in strong games with 12 and 10 points respectively, as the undefeated Jayhawks will next hit the court to face Grambling State on Wednesday evening at Allen Fieldhouse.
