Recognized for a strong campaign in their first year in the conference, three Missouri Tigers volleyball players were given All-SEC honors on Monday according to an official release by the team.
Junior Lisa Henning became the first Missouri player to ever earn first-team status, while both junior Molly Kreklow and sophomore Whitney Little were each represented on the second team. Despite falling short of their ultimate goal of a national championship, the Tigers were one of three SEC schools to place at least three players on the two all-conference squads.
"Obviously I am humbled by the honor," Henning said. "For three of us to be honored by the SEC this season, I think it goes to show you that we can compete in this league at a very high level."
Henning posted the fourth-highest kill total in program history with 506 this past season, a mark that falls just shy of her record 523 kills from the previous year while playing in the Big 12. With all three All-SEC members back for another attempt at an NCAA title in 2013, Henning and the Tigers will certainly be a team to watch on the national level next season.
