The Missouri Tigers' soccer team is heading to the NCAA Tournament, it was announced Monday. It's the fifth such trip to the tournament for theTigers and first since 2008.
Missouri will host the Illinois Fighting Illini in the first round on Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. The Tigers went 14-7 on the season and had wins over No. 11 Memphis No. 15 California, as well as four wins against teams in the RPI's Top 27. The 14 regular-season wins are tied for the most in school history.
Illinois went 10-8-3 and advanced to the Big 10 championship game, where it lost Sunday to Ohio State. The Illini have impressive wins over No. 3 Penn State and No. 24 Michigan on their resume.
It's the fifth trip to the tournament in school history and first since 2008. The Tigers advanced to the second round in each of the team's last three trips to the tournament.
