NFL odds and lines Week 10: Chiefs vs. Steelers

Steelers favored by 13 at home on Monday Night Football against the struggling Chiefs.

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

Once again, the Kansas City Chiefs are opening as underdogs and this week it's for good reason. They will take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football. The Chiefs are opening as 13-point underdogs. The Steelers, while banged up, are still finding ways to win, coming off a 24-20 victory over the Giants in New York. Meanwhile, the Chiefs, riding a five-game losing streak, coming off a 31-13 loss to the Chargers.

Much of the Chiefs struggles come from a struggling defense that allows 30 points per game, the third most in the league, which forces the offense to throw the ball to keep up with the other team. The trouble with that is the Chiefs have the 25th-ranked passing offense, only 207.6 yards per game and Chiefs' quarterbacks have thrown only six touchdowns to 14 interceptions. Meanwhile, the Steelers have the top-ranked defense in the league, which helps their 14th-ranked offense get over the hump.
