Saturday's Alamo Bowl matchup between No. 13 Oregon State and No. 23 Texas highlights the weekend bowl schedule. Oregon State improbably won their first six games of the season and stayed in the Pac-12 hunt until a loss to Stanford on November 10. The Beavers average 316.5 yards passing per game, good for 15th nationally. Texas is finishing yet another disappointing season, losing its last two games and finishing a tepid 5-4 in the Big 12.
Friday features three bowl games, with Ohio and Louisiana-Monroe starting things in the Independence Bowl at 1 p.m. Rutgers and Virginia Tech face off in an intriguing Russell Athletic Bowl matchup in Orlando at 4:30 CT. Minnesota and Texas Tech, two teams struggling to the finish line, close out the night in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl at 8 p.m.
Elsewhere on Saturday, Air Force rises for a 10:45 a.m. kickoff against Rice in the Armed Forces Bowl. West Virginia and Syracuse renew a former Big East rivalry in the Pinstripe Bowl at 2:15 p.m. Navy and Arizona State square off in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl at 3 p.m. TCU and Michigan State close the Saturday slate with a 9:15 kickoff in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
All times CT. There are no bowl games Sunday.
