The No. 6 Kansas Jayhawks (10-1) will try to notch their 11th win of the season on Saturday night, when they play host to the American University Eagles (4-8).
Kansas has won its last nine games after losing to Michigan State on Nov. 13, a streak that includes a win over then-No. 7 Ohio State.
American lost four of its last five games, including its last three. American's most recent lost came against the No. 15 Georgetown Hoyas, when the Eagles fell, 65-48.
Stephen Lumpkins is American's leading scorer through the Eagles' first 12 games, and the Jayhawks will certainly look to shut the senior forward down. Lumpkins is averaging 15 points per game so far for American, as well as 8.3 rebounds per game -- also a team high.
Tipoff between Kansas and American is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT on Saturday, Dec. 29, from Allen Fieldhouse. Televised coverage can be found on Jayhawk TV, and the game will be streamed on ESPN3.
