Some day the Kansas City Royals look positioned to have more. For now, they will have to settle for two. As fantasy baseball owners are ready to load up their teams for another year, two Royals players should expect to find their names called among the top 100 players — at least that’s how Eric Karabell ranks his top 100 preseason players.
Eric Hosmer makes the cut at No. 34 and Alex Gordon comes in at No. 70. Both hitters are expected to anchor a Royals line-up that also includes young slugger Mike Moustakas and the dependable Billy Butler among others. It’s clear the Royals will score some runs.
On the other hand, the Royals wish some pitchers were fantasy-worthy as they lack any ace candidates, at least for this season. The Royals will likely outslug most teams in the games that they win in 2012 with the hopes that signs of life begin to emerge from the front of the rotation.
