The green flag is scheduled to drop on the 54th running of the Daytona 500 at 1:29 pm ET if mother nature decides to cooperate. Once the green flag does drop it will be Carl Edwards leading the 43 car field to the start line and will be joined on the outside by Roush Fenway Racing teammate Greg Biffle.
It looks like a system or rain showers will likely make its way into north Florida sometime around midday and could cause problems. If the rain comes it looks like it might be there for sometime and won't allow any windows to run the race as scheduled. Monday's forecast may not be any better so stay tuned.
