2012 Daytona 500: Clint Bowyer Runs Out Of Gas, Causes Caution

With green-flag stops rapidly approaching, Clint Bowyer brought out a caution flag after running out of gas just past the halfway point.

Bowyer had been running towards the front of the pack but was unable to get back to pit road on his own thus forcing the caution. He will likely return to the race but is now two laps down in 32nd.

With 69 laps remaining, Mark Martin is the race leader and is followed by Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, and Denny Hamlin. Carl Edwards is still hanging out in the middle of the pack back in 16th position along with Kyle Busch, Jeff Burton and Dale Earnhardt Jr. The closer the race gets to the end, the more Edwards and company will try to work their way to the front.
