The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket and field has been announced, and the Wichita State Shockers will receive a No. 5 seed in the South region. The Shockers' first opponent will be the VCU Rams, and they will play on Thursday, March 15 at TIME in LOCATION. If the Shockers wins their first matchup, they will face the winner of No. 4 Indiana and No. 13 New Mexico State.
The Shockers earned the No.5 seed with a 27-5 record in the Missouri Valley Conference and a No. 14 national ranking. Despite being upset in the 2012 MVC Tournament Semifinals by Illinois State, WSU's season featured wins over UNLV, Davidson, Drake and Tulsa.
