Adam Caplan is reporting that the Denver Broncos have reached agreement with Joe Mays on a new deal that will keep him with the team in 2012. The Broncos first acquired the linebacker from the Philadelphia Eagles in the trade for running back J.J. Arrington. He’s been a solid defender for the Broncos ever since.
The Broncos continue to make decent moves in free agency even though the team is waiting to spend the bulk of its money on Peyton Manning, if he chooses to play in Mile High. John Elway and company realize there are other holes to fill and players to address besides quarterback, but they are also limited to a point. Smaller moves like maintaining Mays in free agency are the ones they need to make while waiting on the biggest fish of all.
