Mizzou Losing To Texas A&M In ESPN Poll Of 'Most Exciting New SEC Member'

It’s not even a contest at this point. In an ESPN poll asking readers which new SEC team excites them the most, the Texas A&M Aggies are winning by a 2-1 margin over the Missouri Tigers as they prepare to enter SEC play. What that means is, well, nothing really.

Edward Aschoff writes, ‘Both bring something different to the SEC. The Tigers will have that potentially high-flying spread offense with them this season, led by dual-threat quarterback James Franklin. He’s looking to become more of a passer than a runner, so he’ll look a little different this fall.

“The Tigers return a lot of weapons on offense and have some pretty good depth at linebacker and defensive end. Both are key positions in the SEC, so that’s a pretty good thing for Missouri.”

What is clear is that Missouri has more work to do in terms of developing fan interest in the brand they bring, but success on the field/court will determine that more than anything.
