Joakim Soria Injury Update: Surgery For Royals Pitcher Set for April 3rd

Joakim Soria will have his second Tommy John surgery on April 3, according to a report by Bob Dutton. Soria received several opinions before making this decision, the report says.

The Kansas City Royals closer suffered with injuries in 2009, just a year after signing a 3-year deal worth $8.75 million. Last season, Soria lost his closing position due to a struggling start, but was soon awarded his position back after a strong performance as a reliever, non-closer. Soria is just 27-years-old and was acquired by the Royals in 2006.
