Former Kansas Quarterback Brock Berglund Looking At North Texas, FIU

Kansas football fans are finally getting an idea of where Brock Berglund might head next after the dramatic offseason storyline that had the quarterback looking for his release from new Jayhawks head coach Charlie Weis but finding the journey difficult. Now it’s being reported by College Football Talk that Berglund is likely to choose soon:

A source with knowledge of the situation told CFT that Berglund attended a North Texas practice on Friday and added that fellow Sun Belt member FIU also appeared to be a finalist as the next destination for the ex-Jayhawk. The source said Berglund’s parents, who live in Colorado, liked UNT because it was closer to home than FIU.

Berglund was given his release after initially being told “no” by Weis. After the transfers of Jake Heap and Dayne Crist among other incoming options, there was clearly a regime change going on and Berglund was going to be left out in the cold. Now he’ll hope to revitalize his career in the same way incoming KU transfers are.
