It's a reminder of just how dominant Carl Edwards was last year that he's still named among the top drivers in the field when it comes to the odds posted by Vegas Insider for tonight's NASCAR race at the Texas Motor Speedway. The Samsung Mobile 500 odds are out and Edwards is currently near the upper part of the pack of drivers at 10/1 odds. That belies his start to the 2012 racing season that has last year's second place Sprint Cup Standings finisher in a bit of a confusing struggle.
Edwards has three top 10 finishes in 2012, which is a far cry from where he was last season. Currently he's No. 11 in NASCAR's Power Rankings behind Clint Bowyer. Bowyer is 18/1 odds for today's race.
Jimmie Johnson is today's favorite to win at 5/1, and Jeff Gordon follows immediately with 6/1 odds. Kyle Busch and Tony Stewart are up next before a five way tie at 10/1 with Edwards and Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, and Kasey Kahne. Bobby Labonte and David Ragan bring up the rear at 200/1.
