With the first round of the 2012 Masters well underway, the three Kansas City area golfers in the field of 92 are well behind the leaders.
Sweden's Henrik Stenson has gotten off to a blistering pace, as he is already at -5 through only 8 holes. Right behind him is Scotland's Paul Lawrie at -4 (through 17), with Tiger Woods checking in at E (through 7).
Gary Woodland, a Topeka native who played at Kansas, is at +1 (through 8). Chez Reavie, who hails from Wichita, is right behind him at +2 (through 6) while Tom Watson, the 62-year old legend who grew up near Kansas City, is fading away at +3 (through 10).
While most of the field of 92 has already teed off, there are several big names still waiting for their chance at Augusta, including Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia.
