Masters 2012 Purse: Tom Watson, Gary Woodland And Chez Reavie Come Up Short

They say “no news is good news,” but the lack of any buzz for golfers with local ties at the 2012 Masters means no payout. Tom Watson, Chez Reavie and Gary Woodland all came up short at Augusta for one reason or another, and that means that each golfer goes home empty-handed from the Easter weekend, at least in terms of purse payouts.

The winner, of course, was Bubba Watson who earned a cool $1.44 million for his efforts over the four-day event. Louis Oosthuizen earned $864K for his second-place showing. Tom Watson and Reavie were both out due to the cuts made at the end of the second round, but Woodland stood a good chance of earning something. Unfortunately, a hand injury got in the way and forced him to retire after the third round and a horrific 13-over showing on Saturday.

Here are the unofficial top-10 earners for the 2012 Masters:
1st, Bubba Watson, $1,440,000
2nd, Louis Oosthuizen $864,000
T-3rd, Lee Westwood, $284,000
T-3rd, Matt Kuchar, $284,000
T-3rd, Peter Hanson, $284,000
T-3rd, Phil Mickelson, $284,000
7th, Ian Poulter, $268,0000
T-8, Adam Scott, $244,000
T-8, Padraig Harrington, $244,000
T-8, Justin Rose, $244,000
