Kansas Football: Running Back James Sims Arrested For DUI

After suffering through a tough 2011-12 season, things just keep getting worse for the Kansas Jayhawks football program. Reports from KUSports.com are saying sophomore running back James Sims was arrested on DUI charges early Sunday morning.

James D. Sims, 20, a junior running back originally from Irving, Texas, who started all 12 football games in his sophomore season, was arrested in the 1300 block of Jayhawk Boulevard shortly after 2:15 a.m. Sunday.

The report was confirmed by ESPN,com's David Ubben, who cited KU athletic director Jim Marchiony as his source.

"(Marchiony) said any discipline would be handled internally," wrote Ubben.

For Jayhawks fans, it will be interesting to see how new head coach Charlie Weis handles this event, after in Janurary he dismissed 10 players from the team, including Sims back-up, Darrian Miller.
