The 2012 Players Championship is underway at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Thursday's first round action has seen many of the participants complete the first 18 holes.

So far, Ian Poulter is the leader, finishing the opening round at 7-under par. Poulter bogeyed one hole -- the par-4, seventh -- but still managed to post eight birdies on the way to shooting a 65 on the day.

Local golfer Chez Reavie is currently shooting even par through 15 holes. He shot a double bogey on the par-4 first hole and also bogeyed on the eighth and 13th hole, both par-4's as well. However, Reavie has connected on four eagles thus far.

Gary Woodland is struggling as he shot a disappointing 5-over par in Round 1. He double-bogeyed the 13th hole (par-5) and triple-bogeyed the 14th hole (par-4). He also bogeyed on the first, seventh and 16th hole this afternoon, but also made three birdies.
