Mizzou Golfers Prep For Regional Championship

The University of Missouri will be sending two golfers to compete in the 2012 NCAA Men's Regional Golf Championship, held in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Jace Long and Emilio Cuartero will be competing against each other as individual golfers in the tournament, and unsurprisingly, both Long and Cuartero are preparing for the tournament.

The first round of the 56-hole tournament will be held on Thursday, May 17. Both Long and Cuartero will tee off in the morning, with Cuartero teeing off from hole No. 1 at 9:50 a.m., and Long teeing off at 10:20 a.m.

Here's how the tournament works:

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 17-19. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals, which will be conducted May 29-June 3, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.

Missouri's two golfers are competing as individuals, so hopefully at least one of them manage to advance to the finals later this month.
