The Missouri Tigers take the 2012 Big 12 Baseball Tournament crown with an 8-7 win over Oklahoma on Sunday.
The Tigers started fast but had to hold on at the end to secure the win. Missouri staked itself to an early lead with four runs in the first inning. The Sooners came back with single runs in the second and fourth to cut the lead in half to 4-2. The Tigers added three more runs in the top of the fifth to extend the lead to 7-2 but Oklahoma answered back with three of its own in the bottom of the frame.
Oklahoma tied the game at 7-7 in the sixth with a two-run single by Garrett Carey but Missouri retook the lead in the eighth with Blake Brown scoring on a double play grounder off the bat of Dane Opel.
Michael McGraw finished with three hits for the Tigers while Dillon Everett and Ben Turner drove in two runs apiece. Caleb Bushyhead had three hits for the Sooners.
Dusty Ross gets credited for the win allowing four hits and no runs in 2 1/3 innings of relief. Steven Okert gets hit with the loss after allowing an unearned run in 2 1/3 innings.
