Sporting Kansas City began the 2012 MLS season as one of the better teams in the league, but they went without a for most of the Month of May. Now they ended their four-game losing streak as they defeating a very good San Jose Earthquakes 2-1.
The win is just what Sporting Kansas City needed to get back on track and reemerge as one of the better teams in the MLS. San Jose had 27 points which ties them with D.C. United for the second most in the league.
Sporting Kansas City got on the board within the first five minutes of the match when Kei Kamara executed a perfect cross to C.J. Sapong who made it a 1-0 game. Sapong was in a full sprint and received the pass from Kamara and connected and the ball went flying past keeper Jon Busch.
The second goal game for Sporting Kansas City at the 39th minute when Chance Myers scored on a good cross from about the six yards out.
San Jose did get on the board at the 72nd minute when Simon Dawkin was able to get one past Jimmy Nielsen to make it 2-1, which would be the final.
